AUTOMATION OF LONGEVITY INCREMENT
In a bid to ensure fairness in employee rewards as well as minimize administrative bureaucracy in processing longevity increments, Accountant General’s Department AGD) in collaboration with Personnel Management Office (PMO) and Soft Tech (System Developers) for EPICOR 10 has now automated longevity increments with effect from August 2020. Going forward, the payroll system will automatically pay the increment to all eligible employees as soon as they are due for the increment. We are aware of the importance of longevity increments as an avenue for pay rise for most civil servants and its impact on retirement benefits. In this regard, PMO wish to assure all Government employees of our commitment to ensuring fairness and timely payment of this increment.
With this development, all Government employees are kindly advised to desist from sending applications for longevity increment to the Personnel Management Office. Notwithstanding, eligible employees for the increment are advised to regularly check their pay slips when they are due for longevity to confirm the increment (on their basic salaries). Where there are omissions/system errors with regards to the increment, affected employees should forward such complaints with relevant supporting documents such as appointment letters, promotion letters, approved copies of longevity letters etc to the Personnel Management Office through their Heads of Departments for redress.
By a copy of this letter, all Heads of Government Departments are kindly advised to bring this information to the attention of their Account, Admin, Human Resource Officers and all employees under their purview.
If you need further information/clarification on this issue, please contact the Human Resource Information Systems Division of the Personnel Management Office on 4201913 or simply send an email to anjafaminah.1@gmail.com
We solicit your cooperation.
