Lamin F. Jawara
Mr. Lamin F. Jawara is a career civil servant who has served in the Civil Service for more than two decades. Incidentally, he started his career at the Personnel Management Office (PMO), where he rose through the ranks to become Deputy Permanent Secretary before his redeployment to the Ministry of Environment Climate Change and Natural Resources (MECCNAR) in 2011. At MECCNAR, Mr. Jawara was promoted to the post of Permanent Secretary in February 2017. He was subsequently redeployed back to PMO in June 2018, where he continues to serve in the same capacity as a Permanent Secretary.
PS Jawara holds of a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce as well as a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from the University Derby, United Kingdom. Additionally, Mr. Jawara has undergone several professional training programmes both locally and overseas as well as represented The Gambia at many international conferences, hence his status as an expert in HR and Public Administration.
As Permanent Secretary, he is responsible for all HR matters in the Civil Service as well as the Government’s Civil Service Reform Programme.
