Public Service Reform and Institutional Capacity Development Project

The Gambian Public Service Reform under the guidance of the newly established Public Service Reform and Capacity Development Board seeks to bring about a comprehensively reformed civil service that is efficient, transparent and accountable and able to design policies, implement programmes and deliver services to the citizens at national and decentralized levels.

The Public Service Reform and Institutional Capacity Development (PRSICD) project, supported by UNDP, is part of the Gambian Civil Service Reform Strategy, endorsed by the National Assembly on April 1st, 2009.

The project has a strategic approach to build capacity in a sustainable manner in the Gambian civil service. It focuses on critical aspects (policy development and implementation, capacity gaps, management, finance, etc) in key government institutions, and at the same time, filling critical capacity gaps in top senior management positions.
